Hungarian Chocolate Walnut Loaf Cake (Inspired by the Cake in the Image)

 Ingredients

For the cake:

2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour

1 cup (200 g) sugar

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

¼ tsp salt

3 large eggs

1 cup (240 ml) milk

½ cup (120 ml) vegetable oil

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 tbsp cocoa powder

For the chocolate frosting:

200 g milk chocolate, melted

150 g unsalted butter, softened

1 cup (120 g) powdered sugar

2 tbsp cocoa powder

For the topping:

1 cup (120 g) chopped walnuts

2 tbsp honey

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a loaf pan.

In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.

In another bowl, beat the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla.

Combine the wet and dry ingredients until smooth.

Pour the batter into the loaf pan and bake for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Let the cake cool completely.

For the frosting, beat the butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar and cocoa powder, then mix in the melted chocolate.

Spread the chocolate frosting generously over the cooled cake.

Mix the walnuts with honey and sprinkle them over the top of the cake.

Chill for 20 minutes before serving.
